BDO in Finland buys a firm specialized in internal audit

The Finnish BDO has bought the shares of Control Consulting Oy, a consulting company specialized in internal and IT audit, information security, and corporate governance.

The Control Consulting’s personnel remain with the company.  Of their employees, Mr. Atte Holopainen and Ms. Eila Koivu are well-known within the internal and IT audit profession. For years, they have been training new auditors, published articles and talked in domestic and international conferences. They are co-authors of the book, Sisäinen tarkastus (Internal Auditing) published by Tietosanoma Oy, second edition in 2010. Ms. Koivu is also co-author of the brand new book called Väärinkäytökset hallintaan (Fraud risks under control) Tietosanoma Oy, first edition in 2010.

Control Consulting continues its operations under the name BDO Control & Consulting Oy. With this acquisition, BDO gains access to internal auditing and consulting. At the moment, the purpose is to strengthen the company by recruiting experienced professionals and thus secure continuity of professionalism.
