BDO Group’s annual result: BDO Finland’s turnover increased
22 December 2017
BDO Finland’s turnover for the accounting period that ended on 31 August 2017 totalled EUR 21.1 million, up 16% year-on-year.
Auditing services represented 69% of our turnover, making us the fourth-largest provider of auditing services in Finland.
Our growth was driven by our investments in business development, which continued from the previous accounting period, as well as successful recruitment. We would like to thank our clients for their trust and for using our services. Much of the credit for our growth belongs to our employees who have all contributed to our success. Our clients in Finland are served by more than 160 experts across the country. During the accounting period, we established a new subsidiary, BDO IT Sertification Oy, which will enable us to provide information security audits and certification services to our clients.
Continued growth for BDO Global
The combined turnover of the global BDO network grew to reach EUR 7.4 billion (USD 8.1 billion) for the accounting period that ended on 30 September 2017, representing annual growth of 8% at fixed exchange rates. For BDO, a global network with European roots and operating principles, Europe is a very significant market — EMEA represented a higher proportion of the global network’s turnover than the United States.
BDO’s sustained strong growth has been achieved by having clear strategic goals, including a strong client orientation, acquisitions and industry consolidation, which are aimed at launching services that clients need and increasing the impact of all BDO member companies. Growth has also been expedited by the client-focused use of digitalisation and the network’s committed client base.
The number of experts employed by the global BDO network has grown by more than 9%, with more than 73,000 experts now working at 1,500 offices. In addition to growth, the global BDO network is also pursuing steady expansion. During the accounting period, the number of member companies grew from 158 countries/regions to 162. This expansion enables our network to serve our clients even more globally than before.
