BDO acted as the lead advisor to Laattapiste-Pukkila Oy in its acquisition of 100% of the shares in the Swedish company CC Höganäs Byggkeramik AB (Höganäs Kakel) from the Italian Ricchetti Group. Through the acquisition, Laattapiste-Pukkila expands into the Swedish market and establishes a platform for further growth across the Nordic region.
Laattapiste-Pukkila is a Finnish family-owned company and a nationwide specialist retailer of bathrooms, ceramic tiles, and other surface materials. The company serves consumers, construction professionals, designers, contractors, and resellers. Its operations are built on deep specialist expertise, high-quality product solutions, and comprehensive service covering the entire process from design to implementation. Laattapiste-Pukkila generates annual revenue of €53 million and employs 175 people.
Höganäs Kakel is a well-known Swedish company specializing in ceramic tiles and surface materials. The company serves both consumers and construction and design professionals throughout Sweden. Höganäs Kakel is recognized for its long history, strong brand, and expert customer service. The company generates annual revenue of SEK 300 million (€27 million) and employs 75 people.
BDO served as lead advisor to Laattapiste-Pukkila Oy throughout the entire acquisition process, providing target company valuation, preparation of the offer, financial due diligence, and negotiation and execution of the share and purchase agreement. The project was carried out in close cooperation with BDO's Nordic network.
