Nature services

Our services related to biodiversity and ecosystems help your company to identify the related impacts, risks and opportunities and set the necessary targets for integrating nature work into the company's activities. We also offer nature footprint calculation and the calculation of nature value hectares, which makes your company’s nature impacts measurable and comparable.

We can also prepare a scenario analysis of your operations, support you in creating a transition plan and resilience analysis, and provide recommendations for the preparation of technical and scientifically verifiable metrics. Taking biodiversity into account safeguards the natural resources and ecosystem services necessary for business activities and reduces risks, costs and regulatory pressures in the long run.

We help organisations to identify the key nature-related drivers of their business and assess the material nature-related impacts, risks and opportunities across the value chain. Our services include a baseline analysis, nature-related materiality assessment and the identification of impacts, dependencies and risks. We conduct the assessments in accordance with international and European standards and frameworks, such as the TNFD and the SBTN. By identifying its key nature-related drivers, a company can proactively manage risks, take advantage of new business opportunities and build a competitive advantage in a changing operating environment.

We also support our clients in defining their targets, policies and metrics, and linking nature-related information with strategy, governance and decision-making. The assessment can be carried out directly in accordance with the ESRS and included in the company’s sustainability report.

The calculation of the nature footprint and nature value hectares enables companies to utilise measurable and comparable metrics in assessing biodiversity impacts, setting targets and monitoring and reporting on development.

We use science-based methods and calculation models in the calculation of the nature footprint and nature value hectares. Nature footprint measures the degradation and change of nature caused by human activity. Nature value hectares illustrate the ecological state and the degree of naturalness in different forms of land use. Nature value hectares serve as a key tool in ecological compensation, as they can be used to reliably measure, compare and demonstrate the compensation of impacts on nature.

The calculation methods support both the company’s reporting obligations and the prioritisation of concrete measures. With the help of our experts, a company can optimise its activities in such a way that it achieves the greatest nature benefit with the most cost-effective measures.

We support our clients in all stages of nature-related strategy work, from the assessment of the current state to the drawing up of targets, roadmaps and action plans. We help to integrate nature themes into the company’s overall strategy, risk management and business model. Our services support both regulatory reporting and long-term value creation, enabling the identification and effective implementation of nature-positive solutions. We also help to assess and utilise nature-based solutions and identify the opportunities presented by the nature credits market as part of the company’s nature strategy, risk management and value creation.
