BDO brings together an experienced team of M&A professionals

14 June 2016

The global accounting, tax and advisory network BDO strengthens its corporate finance and transactions competencies by hiring top professionals in Finland and by purchasing Consilium Corporate Finance Oy, a company specialised in corporate and capital financing.

BDO, the 5th largest accounting, tax and advisory network both in Finland and globally, now offers Corporate Finance and Transactions services covering the entire deal continuum; buy and sell side advisory, industry sector consolidations, deal financing, and ownership restructuring.

Internationally seasoned team

The BDO Corporate Finance and Transactions team is lead by Eija Kuittinen, ex partner and M&A Leader at Deloitte and PwC. Matti Kaloinen joins BDO to lead the Transaction Services team. He worked earlier both at Deloitte’s and KPMG’s transaction team. Jan Kovero, in turn, is responsible for Commercial Due Diligence services. His previous experience includes management tasks at the Global Intelligence Alliance Group.

The Consilium acquisition also brings Pekka Lindholm and Tuomo Alamäki to BDO. Lindholm has over 20 years of experience in investment banking. Alamäki worked as a Senior Partner at Consilium as of 2009, prior to which he worked in management tasks at Nokia for more than 20 years, supervising sections such as finances, strategic planning, and the development of new business operations.

The core team has been engaged in hundreds of deals and boasts decades of experience in cross border transactions serving both large corporations as well as SME’s, PE firms and public sector players. The team provides insights thorough the entire deal lifecycle and is, therefore, able to support our clients with a wide and focused perspective, focusing on the key drivers on each transaction.

The Finnish team is supported by the strong BDO international network; more than 1,200 M&A experts in 157 countries. Strengthening M&A services supports the BDO growth strategy in Finland providing an alternative to the so-called Big4.

True advisor

"Our strengths in a deal stems from our desire to be the true advisor, providing our clients with exceptional client service experience including no hesitation to challenge them," summarises Eija Kuittinen.
"Each transaction is different. That is why we do not simply mimic the engagement but truly customise our services according to the client's needs."

After the acquisition of Consilium, a company founded in 2005, BDO now has a status of an certified advisor at the First North marketplace.
